[Resolved] Automating URLs

I am working on designing a custom blog, and I was wondering if there is a function (or a tutorial on how to write one), that will will look through the post and activate any typed in URL as a hyperlink. I was thinking about writing one where it just searched the post for [url]http://[/url] and turned everything after it until the space into a hyperlink, but I would bet there is an easier way, then there is the fact that I am not sure how to do that.
