But that doesn't make sense.

HTML is a 'programming' language to create webpages.

Hosting is needed to get your pages on the web, unless you run your own webserver.

sorry... being picky here, but this drives me nuts. html is not a programming language. it is a markup language. at minimum a programming language needs to have the ability to make descisions, and store variables. html can do neither.

We are in newbies. I wasn't going to get into that issue of what is a programming language. But since in echo lounge some old threads have been given life recently.. Let me do the same: Why HTML is not a programming language

I think what Kingpaw means is, should he create his own website or use a template from a hosting company?

I'd say, if you're looking for fun, experience and skills you can grow - then build your own. HTML is easy to learn.

If, however, you're looking to get a site up as soon as possible and you're not really interested in the nuts'n'bolts of it, then go with a template.
