MySQL

HEllo,

I would like to ask something about MySQL. I have 3 tables...
Students, Staff and Stud_Staff....The stud_staff contains only the foreign keys of students and staff. I want 3 students to be allocated with 1 staff for example. Do i need to insert values into the stud_staff table using LAST_INSERT_ID()?

i would do it like this:

// insert student here
$stud_id = mysql_insert_id();
$sql = "INSERT INTO stud_staff (stud,staff) VALUES ($stud_id,$staff_id)";

etc
