Multiple Script

I have multiple PHP scripts running and I would like to set it up where the user has to only login 1 time and they will be able to access all of the scripts with the same screen name?

Also, should I run all of these scripts from 1 database or from multiple databases?

I am a newbie to PHP so if anyone can help me out you may have to use baby talk 🙂

Yuo should use only one table 'users' or 'members' in database
Then you should include some common.php in beginning of each php-page.
Inside this 'common.php', you can have a check if user is_logged ?

Every page has this at top:

<?php
include 'common.php';

// rest of page
?>

common.php is something like this:

<?php
session_start();
if ($_SESSION['logged']==TRUE) {
// user does not have to login
}else{
//redirect to login form page
}
// here script continues to page that did include this
?>

Should I place all of the scripts into 1 database?

If I use lets say members then should I delete any other table that has the members table in it from other scripts?

And if I use the common.php script should I only use it from one script or all of the scripts? Deleting the others?

If I ad common.php in the pages is that in all of the pages as this would mean putting it into over 1000 pages?

As you can see I can make small changes to php but I am very new to this and by useing some many different scripts people do not want to have to register and login to so many different scripts it's killing my website.

Is there any step by step books or postings that I may be able to follow?
