I think Zend.com Absolute Beginners tutorials are good.
Not only for Newbies, but we could all learn a bit more.

actually for a begginer, you might want to try the practical php programming online book, buy the time you work through that you should have a decent understanding.

no no no... dont say that.

it might look overwhelming at first (weve all been there), but its not really that difficult. start with the basics and work your way through.

its going to take you a while, but eventually you'll get the hang of it and then you'll start creating more complex / efficient and better code. it wont happen overnight (it is programming afterall - does it sound like it should be easy?), but it will happen with some time / patience.

really, if youve got your mind set on it, theres nothing stopping you. its just a bit of reading.
