newbie looking for work

Hey,
I'm new and I want to try and make a script/program/site that is simple. I can't figure exactly just what I want to make.

If anyone has something they want/need, please tell me and I can try and make it for them. We can both work on it, or not. But I do want to make something and not just for the sake of making it.

ps: I'm trying to organize a group of new php programmers and website makers to form a group and in August or September I am hoping for our group to do many jobs for my family's company and for other contacts that aren't just quit ready. I want some practice work that will be critiqued by the person who wants it to be done. Please email/pm/message me asap if interested.

Are these paid or volunteer jobs? I know the forum rules explicitly forbid job postings, so be careful.

I'm volunteer... in that note I didn't mean a 'job', really... I don't wont money.

I want to practice making a script/program for someone that needs/wants it... not too hard of course becuase of the whole NEWBIE thing...

So please don't think I'm trying to get paid or freelance or w/e becuase I just want practice on someone else's request if ya know waht I mean.

k sorry for frequent post, but just to update...

Thanks to Matt, I've got something to work on, an event calender.

Any other projects/programs that arent too hard at all I'd be intersted in!
