if i have a pulldown such as this
<select name="name"> <option value="123">Title 123</option> </select>
i know that $_POST['name'] will give me "123" but is there a way to get the "Title 123" value as well?

Not unless you want to do something like
<option value="123:Title 123">Title 123</option>
and then in your form handler something like
list ($name, $title) = split(":", $_POST['name']);
yeah i thought that would be the case... doesnt matter
