forms issue

I must confess I don't think this directly has anything to do with the php, but still it might, and people here are very very helpful so it can't hurt to ask!

I am currently trying to sort out some issues on a php content managed site. all conteents are drawn up from a database and displayed as main.php?section=xxx with the content appearing in an iframe.

now I needed to create a registration form, and php to process that form into the database. no problems there on a standalone page, and using the content management system to call up the form within the iframe was still no problem, but now when the submit button is pressed it doesnt go to the page defined in the forms 'action' variable.

given it doesnt work please feel free to enter data to see what happens when you do, any ideas would be much appreciated...

If you do not know where error is likely, how would we know?
We can not surf around the web hunting codes.
We want them here!

visiting my old threads again... just spotted Halojoy's reply which I hadn previously seen. The point (at least my intention) was to find out if anyone had experienced any similar sounding problems rather than to have people guess the solution to mine which as you rightly pointed out would be a bit hard without code 😉

still havent solved it though I have noticed other forms on the site don't seem to use the <form> tag in anyway yet they still seem to have submit buttons... as such everything i thought i knew about forms has gone totally out of the window! some code for one of the forms -

so how do forms work without an form action to tell them what to do?
