If we exclude number one interactive php website: PHPBuilder.com
😉

What is the
Best PHP Public Community Board in www

?
In your opinion.

    🙂

    I added a poll.
Give me a hint what other options, PHP forums,
I should add to my poll.

    Thanks

def. codewalker, altho i really only go here... and more or less read tutorials then ditch the site... 🙁 this is the only one i'm fairly active at 😃

        🆒

        Any comments, to your votes?
        I voted Codewalkers, myself.
As I am member there, I know about it..

SitePoint.com Forums I know too little about.
But fact is, when I do my web searches with Google on PHP matters,
I often end up in a SitePoint page!

        Any opinions on SitePoint 😕

Not much of a codewalker. Actually only went there when beginning and then it just didnt cut it anymore although there competitions are quite good to have a go, except Ive never had the time to do any.

Sitepoint on the other hand although im no where near as frequent there as I am here is quite a good board and site (they have some pretty decent articles although I dont always read them), not really centralised around PHP, but more Web Development in general. They have a much larger base of regulars then here.

If PHPBuilder is number one, why should we care about #2 ...?

Not until they institute a charge to sign up, anyway. 😉

IIRC I have a username over at phpFreaks, but it's pretty lame by comparison over there and I hardly ever even point the browser that direction....

The Devshed forums aren't so bad. I go there for javascript help (not very often). I've had good results with the help in their PHP forum...but I generally lurk around here.

SitePoint is the best, IMHO. Their books, "The PHP Anthology" (Volumes 1 & 2) (author: Harry Fuecks) and "How to Create a Dynamic Site with PHP & MySQL" (author: Kevin Yank) are some of the best books I've ever read. Plus SitePoint has tons of books and resources on other things, like my namesake, AJAX.

http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/index.php? for most front end web issues. Busy forum, some good coders hanging about.

Yeah, I used to hang out there a fair bit when I was on my placement a couple of years ago for the ASP help. Haven't done much ASP recently, so haven't been for a while.

A different kind of forum, but I also like experts exchange. Tip: download the google toolbar for FF or IE and search the site. Tis cheaper than actually using up your credits. However, play nice and help those who are less fortunate than yourselves

                    What about PHPZen? 😃

Heh, I'd forgotten all about that alternate universe going on. 😃

                      Result of http://www.phpzen.com/:

                      phpBB : Critical Error

Could not open subSilver template config file

                      DEBUG MODE

                      Line : 326
                      File : /home/phpzenc/public_html/forum/includes/functions.php

Great universe there, let me tell you! 😃

Edit: works now, although I don't like it as much as other sites 😉

To explain a bit about the background with PHPZen - when they first started someone created users with the same names as the active users here and posted some pretty dumb stuff under those monikers. It wasn't authorized by the forum owners, but it was humorous at the time.

Hey, I've seen many "LoganK"s in forums before, so I know what it's like. I'm sure if I stick around here long enough it'll be humorous to me too. Or someone will post something funny, because no one ever posts humourous stuff here 😃

In any case, I still like this board better 😉
