Mail System Like outlook express

Hi Friends,

i need to make a mail system like outlook express that mean i run my system on client system it connect to server download mail on client system and after this i work with these mail exectly like outlook express.

Firstly i am confuse how to download mails from web to client system?

Any body can guid me or any idea here?

i think you'll want to look at the [man]imap[/man] functionality. also... if your talking about making this a desktop type app (like outlook) you would need to look at phpgtk.
