MIME encoded attachments

I'm having trouble receiving attachments using aFormMail script. The attachments are converted to a bunch of gibberish.

Trying to create a page where someone can submit a resume. The content of the form is emailed but the attachment is junk.

I have tested this on both mac and pc and used every browser and a bunch of different email clients.

If I collect the mail with my mac the files come

through. If I collect the mail through my browser the attachments come through. If I collect my mail on a pc with outlook or thunderbird the

attachment is gibberish.

What is going on? Below is the beginning part of the email that is

gibberish.

ok I dont know too much about it but you can set the mime type in the header - your using a form that allows for the attachment and mailing of a resume correct? you might wanna look into setting the mime in the header when you send everything as well...

here is the raw function to set the content type in the header

header("Content-Type: text/html; ISO-8859-1");

but your supposed to be able to change the mime type (text/html) and or the charset (ISO-88591-) to whatever other definitions appropriate to preparing the incoming/outgoing filetype.

YOU are correct that I am trying to attach a resume with the form. Weird part is that I have tested it on other servers and it works perfectly. It's just the hoster - startlogic.com that the current site sits on where the php script eats the attachment.

Changing header didn't work.

well it appears the attachment is encoded in base64, so whatever receives it needs to decode it.
make sure all the boundaries are in the right place and the headers are all standard.

How come a mac and web base email sees the attachment but a windows client email app doesn't?
