Downgrade from 5 to 4 to use osCommerce

I had PHP 5 running just fine but wanted osCommerce but it doesn't support PHP 5, only PHP 4.

Now PHP doesn't work at all, keep getting File not found 404.

Tried using the CGI Script .. php.exe, but that won't let the server start (WWW Server), would prefer using "PHP4ISAPI.dll" .. I hope that's right .. it loads.

Spent two days on this, feeling pretty dumb right now, but I'm out of things to try.

Personally? I'd suggest a clean start. Uninstall the webserver and PHP and start anew.

We can try debugging your current setup if you'd prefer, however. Let's start out with some preliminary questions:

What returns a 404? Any .php script, all files (including HTML)? Where were the files located, and what URL did you attempt to access them with?
What is the name & version of your webserver? (i.e. Apache 1.3)
What O/S and version is your webserver running on? (i.e. Redhat 9, Windows 2000, Windows XP, etc.)
Are you using the PHP 4.3.11 release (available from PHP.net)? If so, and if you are running on a Windows-based O/S, which package did you download? (i.e. zip package or the installer)
Do you currently have the ISAPI filter installed (attempted, at any rate)? If so, how did you install it? If you are running an Apache webserver, what line(s) did you add to the .conf file?
