PHP upgrade no longer allows URL vars

This is difficult for me to attain help becuase I am not the server adminiatrator, I am simply someone trying to resolve a problem, so I would appreciate help with consideration that I will be relaying it to another party.

I have instructed my server administrator and told him to update PHP version due to lack of certain methods I have developed with. You may view phpinfo() at this location: http://test.wsdweb.org/phpinfo.php

The problem is that all variables passed through the URL are disregarded. index.php will display the same page as index.php?page=example. I am positive that the index.php is programed to recognize the variables and displays the apropriate page.

This problem occured right after my administrator upgraded from version PHP 4.0.6 to PHP 4.3.11. I have never experienced this problem before and was hoping others might have resolved this or might be able to help me with the phpinfo() link I have provided.

Hi Mike,

Have a look at the entry on pre-defined variables in the manual.

I think the warning near the top of your page describes your problem.

Assuming that is your problem and seeing that you don't have control of your server, you'll have to upgrade your code ...

For example, replace all occurrences of $HTTP_GET_VARS to $GET and similarly for $POST. Another change is that $PHP_SELF becomes $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']. The above link should cover all the changes.
