[Resolved] What compatible version to download ?

What stable and compatible version for the following apache/mysql/php to download ?

I have been trying to install/un-install for the last few days but still no success.

I was using mysql 4 and PHP 4, I got an error of "Access denied for user 'ODBC'@'localhost' (using password: NO)"

When i upgraded my PHP to version 5, my PHP is not working.

Can someone please tell what version you used ? or a link how to install them properly step by step.

Access denied for user 'ODBC'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

This just means your using the wrong password to connect.

It also means you most likely specified no username (and no password), as the 'ODBC' is the default. (if you try to login to MySQL by simply typing mysql with no username/password parameters at the command/ssh prompt, you'll get this same message)

I think I have tried all the possible solution, i have another thread earlier for this error message but decided to install all over again . . . I have the code below copied from the book below, but still get the error message.

Firstly please use [php][/php] tags around your code. Secondly your missing a vital statement.

Its also got nothing to do with what version anyone has been using. You can still use 3.23.x and still get this error. Try the following (fixed) up code I have given of course updating the Database Name to the database you wish to be using.
