decimal value of character

Does anyone knows how to get
decimal value of unicode character.

For example this arabic character 

ÈöÓúãö Çááåö ÇáÑøóÍúãäö ÇáÑøóÍöíãö

Gives you equivalent decimal value

#1576;#1616;#1587;#1618;#1605;#1616; #1575;#1604;#1604;#1617;#1607;#1616; #1575;#1604;#1585;#1617;#1614;#1581;#1618;#1605;#1600;#1614;
#1606;#1616; #1575;#1604;#1585;#1617;#1614;#1581;#1616;#1610;#1605;#1616;

note there is "&" before ever # , i had to do it otherwise it display the actual character.

There are a couple of functions to do that posted in the users' notes here. How reliable they are and whether they'll work for your situation, I don't know.

For instanted character "È " should gives "&#1576 " but its giving

I think ord() was intended for ASCII, and does not work properly with Unicode.
You might have to try the multibyte string functions.
