standard table width

i'm using a table to display the contents of my database with width=760. however the width changes according to the contents of my database and the page becomes wide and requires horizontal scrolling in order to read all the contents. is there a way to use a standard width for my table? i thought that by using width=760 would be fine, but it doesn't work.

What has this got to do with Databases? Sounds more HTML than anything else.

Yes however your issue is more HTML related, theres no PHP nor SQL error.

Now since we cant see much I can only assume that you have large fields to be displayed and possibly have line breaks to be displayed

With each field used use the [man]nl2br[/man] function to create HTML line breaks.
