Show images as thumbnails

Greetings

I need to show in a web page all images I have.
There is a lot of images, How can I show them as thumbnails.
I don't mean only the phisical size of the image, but also the memory the image will requiere. This to accelerate performance of the web page.

I would say that if you are able to use the GD library to resize your images

I don't know if anyone else has any other better options? but i find this a a very efficient way to do it

Does the gd library is writen in php or in c?
As the server is not mine, and I can't put c dlls in it.

Read up on the requirements and installation here, then check with phpinfo() to see what you have.

The gd library is written in C.
