script problem

hi there ...
i'm a newcomer to the world of php ... but i have a good knoledge of it thanks to some of the CMS scriptz that i use on several of my sites ...
one script how ever has cased an error i can't resolve ...
the code of the page is attached

the page runs normal but when the user presses "next"
they get this message :

Parse error: parse error, unexpected ')' in /home/arab/public_html/join_form.php(114) : runtime-created function on line 1

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: () in /home/arab/public_html/join_form.php on line 115

i don't know what to do .. i tried everything ... please help

Okay, try to remove single quotes around
$arg0

but Where does $arg0 get its value???
I see no

i tried removing the quotes but i got the same result ...
I noted that the exact same line is repeated several times throughout the file, but it only generates an err here !?

i guess $arg0 gets it's value from other files that are included at the top ...

as for the create_function ... isn't that a standard php function ?

I do not guess, I try to get to know, in my php scripts.
If I would keep guessing, not much would work at all, for me.

PHP is about knowledge - to know.
And to answer your questions here, we need to know as much as possible.
But this is so obvious, I should say no more.
So I stay quiet, for now.

I do not guess, I try to get to know, in my php scripts.
If I would keep guessing, not much would work at all, for me.

i totally agree halojoy although i try to fully understand every little code i see and follow each variable to it's origional value ...

i couldn't in this case ... the code is so messed up and the variables are spread across multiple files ... i'm still trying to find where $arg0 comes from ...

what i did for now is removing the "if" at line 115 just to see what might the result be ...

well ... this is a sign up form ... and by removing the "if" it stopped checking the other fields for errors and conditions ...

so even if i don't input any data in the fields, it still continues to the next page and creates an empty record in the db ...

(i removed line 114 of course)

Yes,
sometimes not easy,
especially when someone else wrote code

It is different when I write my own code
I know most any $variable by name
and their values like the contents of my own pockets
:p

The first parameter for "create_function" is the parameter list for the function created. For example:

$func_str = 'echo $str_1 . $str_2;';
$func = create_function('$str_1, $str_2', $func_str);
$func('Function ', 'created');

//echos "Function created"

So apparently the database contains code snippets which use the variable "$arg0".
