can a client have two sessions?

is it possible to have two sessions per client, one for secure connections, and the other for non-secure? how to achieve this?

you can start as many sessions as you want, just give them each a unique [man]session_name[/man].

Only if they've got two browser windows open, the session has a lifetime of zero, which is the default, but can be set with... wait for it [man]session_set_cookie_params[/man] and one final thing - the browser isn't firefox, because as lovely as it is it always carries a session between tabs/windows everything - and this caused me a massive headache and rewrite of some software I should have done 'properly' in the first place.

thanks. i need to have the same browser instance to send different set of session cookies depending on whether the connection is secure or not. so, if i use session names, the cookies for all sessions will be carried along with client requests?
