Creating a Popup Window or Alert using PHP

I am using the following code to refresh to bring a user who has just submited a form back to the contact us page...(using php to submit and validate the form)

header("Refresh: 0;url=http://www.somewebaddress.com/contact.html");

So I am wondering if I can create some ALERT message to say thank you just before the refreshed?

Can anyone help as I can find something similar online...php experts would be most welcome!

its called JAVASCRIPT, php is serverside, new windows and such are client side, Vbscript could also be a possibility

Yes, understand that there is such a thing call javascript and server side scripting, my question is how I use PHP to do the same with pageheader.

Anyway, have better idea?

obviously you dont understand

serverside CANNOT change anything on the clients computer, so PHP cannot create new browsers, only something like Jscript and VBscript (client side languages)

Someone just emailed me solution...good construtive answer from fr600...if anyone has some views to share, more than welcome to...if not, then please don't waste the space on the forum.

Here's a view to share: when someone give you an answer don't get all upset just because you don't like it. Tekky told you that you'll need a client-side solution and PHP won't give you one, fr600 gave you a client-side solution.

This is a PHP forum, and if PHP can't do what you want, then you've come to the wrong place.

Forget about the solution for the popup. Can anyone think of a correct syntax for this?

Jscript and ASP (client side languages)

asp is server side... same as php.

yeah.. well vbscript is actually a little of both. you can use it client side like javascript, or use it with the asp framework to create server side apps.

Kotun if you're still reading, you need to use the <link> HTML tag to include a style sheet, not the header. <link rel='stylsheet' href='blahblah' type='text/css'>
