Help defining recipient domains for PHP mailer

I am a PHP and Unix newbie and inherited a site that uses PHPMailer (http://phpmailer.sourceforge.net/). I fixed an error that was occurring in the email form, but in the process of testing it realized that the script or server must be configured to only allow emails to be sent to specific domains. Where can I find this code so that I can modify it to allow email to be sent to an additional set of domains? Thanks in advance.

Let's assume, that you've got $email_to from a form. Checking if it's all righ can look like this:

if (preg_match("/(domain.com$)|(another.net$)|(some.edu$)/",$email_to)
{
  //send email
}
else echo "This domain is not allowed.";

The construction above would match [e-mail] as well as [e-mail].
but not [e-mail]
You can be as specific as you like (even the whole email address).
