Unable to Open File For Writing

I am having problems with my Image Handling Script. All forms submit to one page, where they are then redirected to the approite page. Whenever I try to upload an image that is bigger than the defined max dimensions (see script), it gives me an error. Any ideas? I'm on my localhost right now.

This is the error I get:

Have you tried first with
file 'jpg' and 'gif' ?
I thought maybe
you have no support for imagepng() function
jpg and gif are a bit more usual formats, with their imagegif() and imagejpeg() functions

Anyway, seems like problem is happening WITHIN function imagepng()

Except that PNG is generally preferred over GIF these days as being the more sophisticated format. In fact, many versions of GD Lib have PNG but not GIF.

This is much more likely; and make sure that that filepath actually exists.

But still, talking internet, I would take a guess GIF JPG outnumbers PNG many times.
And I have seen very few digital cameras having PNG as default format.

Because 'image.png' is too prefer.

Portable - like in Port
Net - like in Internet
Graphics

... this should tell us something: Developer of this format, had something in mind
... A graphical file format that is good for ... internet portability ... = webpages and browsers

Since I changed to Linux, 90% of my images are PNG.
Linux has understood ...

Hmm, this was all working fine until I decieded to have all forms go to process.php. Before that, some went to my uploader file.

Also, how do I check my permissions? I am running AppServ on my Windows XP Home computer. There is no FTP server, as I just save the files to change them, no uploading required.

If you run at your own computer,
is a lot better than having webspace at a host.
This is what I do - run Apache server in my own PC.
So this is good for you ....

But folder permissions?
Because if WindowsXP can not set folders permissons,
Bill Gates surely has made a joke out of all Win XP users.
Paying money for such bad stuff
(even an OEM version you got with your PC - is paid version - they have included this cost in your package price
because customers has to pay for all costs in a store or a company )

Well, I can't move to anyting *nix because I am building the site on my laptop, which is my main computer. This problem didn't occur before. Any other ideas?
