Hi all,

I am very new to linux but i will very soon have to install PHP,MySQL, PHPMyAdmin and Pear(part of PHP's library) onto a linux server.

Could you please give me any website that will show me how its done?

    Do you have a web server such as Apache already installed? What Linux Distro?

      Apache already installed. Think its Distro.

        Distro never heard of that Distro (Distribution) before, are you sure that is what its called. As there are several RPM Based ones, and other packaging distros that already have pre-compiled binaries that can be installed. Also if your wanting to do a source Install why not google, theres litterally hundreds of tutorials, there is a PHP tutorial link in the Linux forum already - http://www.opendeveloper.org/PHP/HowTo/How_To_Install_PHP_on_Linux/

          OK. Not sure what distro it will be. But can you recommend any sites to visit to give me some understanding of Linux?

          I am an absolute beginner with Linux and have no idea about it.

            There are also sites for the distro you have so check out which distro you have probably Fedora / Redhat or Mandrake as they seem to be most popular with very new users to linux of course there is Debian, Gentoo, Slackware, Yoper, and lots of others.
