Viewing Search Results

I am trying to create a search engine for my site.... On the page that lists the results of the search I want to limit the results to 10 entries per page so at the top of the page it would have "Showing 1-10 of 2000" or something like that and at the bottom it would have like "Page 1 2 3 4" and they can click next or previous to goto the next 10 results. What code would I use to accomplish this ?
