Agreed - that is most excellent... and I suppose if you're feeling adventurous you could always turn the display off, just for laughs, and to see what you get. (something akin to this.)

This thing could actually be revolutionary in some ways. If you could do some mega contrast it could be helpful for people with poor eyesight. The idea that applications themselves (like Photoshop) could use the keyboard as a giant set of shortcuts...or Indesign/Quark...wow. Or even more specific things like operating a crane or a large printing press...

I'm easy-going too but can't pass up the chance not to be a smart-arse. 80% of what I write never passes preview though :quiet:, I'm not nasty 😉

It's taken me like 10 - 15 to write this. I left out all the nasty comments :quiet:

I once came up with exactly that (who hasn't?). Problem was at the time the technology was nowhere near capable, and I ended up letting the idea slide.

My old keyboard looked like that, only it was beige. And it was because the labels had worn off; it ended up looking so cruddy I decided I might as well finish the job.

Then again, I did the same with my ATM card....

But hey, that Art. Lebedev Studio's got some pretty classy thingies.

NetNerd, speaking of "getting a life"... perhaps you should heed your own advice (including your sig quote, "Follow the leader"), and stop trolling. Putting winks at the end of your posts don't remove the sting of your words.

Looking at that keyboard does raise one concern in my mind. The studio suggests OLED displays, but unless I haven't been up with the state of the art, their lifetime leaves much to be desired. I estimate that with 8hr/day usage the thing will flake out in a matter of a few months.

I'm thinking LCD might be a better way to go. A bit bulkier, to be sure, but they have the lifespan, are proven robust, and since they're embedded in keys anyway, don't need to be fantastically thin.
