No php Program files

K, I am really really a newbie (like, haven't been able to even install php properly to work with Apache, despite NUMEROUS tutorials and trys) but anyway, my silly queation is, how come when I download and install Apache (with the installer) I get the Apache/Apache2 folder showing up in the program files area of my computer, BUT, when I download php, and start manually installing it, there are no program files for it, AND sometimes it doesn't show up upnder where my other programs are listed....is this why I can never get it to work? (ie. my 'test' page for php never works etc.)

XAMPP out for first time
I like it- It worked right away on my old Linux ( with latest PHP4.3.11 apache2.0.54 and Perl and ..)
I have no doubt windows version is just as easy
I recommend it!

I used to try it hard way.
Installing and upgrading part for part - apache php and those others
But never again, I tell you!
Why make it difficult for myself, when is no need....

friend of mine has 'dared' me, but he is one of those 'hateful' computer geniuses
lol lol :rolleyes: 😃.....only, I have followed like 10 different tuts and installed/uninstalled/installed different versions of php and guess what?
aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggghhh....so, yes, I will try it the 'easy' way for now, (until I get my php programming certificate, like that would ever happen!!) and thanx very much!!! p.s. I couldn't even 'plug a computer in a year ago'- inspiration to other newbies ha ha

Yeah - I use XAMPP too... it is a great way to "jump in" and get started on PHP/MySQL and Apache!
