Is the php http authentication more secure than a general sql lookup of usernames and passwords sent via a form?
I think so, but its not as pretty or easy to work with as a sql search
How about you combine the two - do a SQL lookup based off of the info provided by PHP HTTP authentication. Otherwise you'll end up hard-coding variables for the usernames and passwords.
