Loops in <tr> rows??

Hi

I have numerous images with different categories in a db.

On the page I want to show a maximum of 4 <td> rows, then if there are more images in the category it starts a new <tr> and maximum 4 <td> rows.

Say for example there are only 6 images for a category I would like the left over <td> rows to be <td>&nbsp;</td>

Can this be done?

I currently use while ($myrow = mysql_fetch_array($result)) to show the results...

Hope that makes sense?!?

FYI, I'm going to use while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)).

echo "<tr>";
while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result))
{
     if ($i == 4)
     {
          echo "</tr><tr>";
          $i = 0;
     }
     echo "<td>{$row['image1']}</td>";
     $i++;

But basically, to modify the code posted above to make it even more efficient you could use this:

$i = 0;
echo '<table>
<tr>';
while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result))
{
     echo ($i%4==0)?"</tr><tr>":'';
     echo '<td>'.$row['image1'].'</td>';
     $i++;
}
echo '</tr>
</table>';

Hey! I'm not that good at math so I don't know how to use the modulus! 😃

The modulus is easy to use. Basically, what I'm saying is that if $i/4 does not have a remainder (i.e. 4, 8, 12, 16...) then it does whatever if it's true, and whatever else if it's false.

I have no ideas for articles, do what suits you. But before you try and write one, I'd take a look in the Echo Lounge at the post about articles and go from there.

Modulus - I know what it does, I just never would have thought to use it in that way 😃

Articles - I'll take a look. Just need to wait for my computer to be back on-line (hard drive crashed, lost everything, currently using an old Sony w/ Win 98....ouch)
