[RESOLVED] using operators

I was wondering if there is something in php similar to the sql "%" wildcard character.
I have an if statement which i am using to test if "(NI)" occurs in one of my out puts, if it does i would like to do one thing, if not do another.
Does anyone know if this is possible or if there is an alternative

To check if some string exists in another string you can use [man]strstr()[/man]. In your case the statement would look like:

if (strstr($output,"(NI)")===false) // no match
else //there is a match

Actually, use [man]strpos/man, or [man]stripos/man if you need a case-insensitive match.
