[RESOLVED] A problem in phpmyadmin ver 2.6.3-pl 1

Hi all,

I have just installed the lastest phpmyadmin but i get the following warnings on the front page where i load the phpmyadmin..

The mbstring PHP extension was not found and you seem to be using a multibyte charset. Without the mbstring extension phpMyAdmin is unable to split strings correctly and it may result in unexpected results.

Anyone experienced this before?

I could not find any mbstring inside my phpmyadmin installation...
Any help and advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

Its not actually an error so to speak, its more of a warning. PHPMyAdmin does use mbstring extension not sure exactly on where but its there. If this is a local setup perhaps installing the mbstring extension to solve it otherwise your going to just have to put up with it.

Yup, that pretty much sums it up. Live with it or install the mbstring extension!

Thanks for the response, i think the problem is because of I'm xampp to run Mysql and apache..I simply just changed the phpmyadmin version and the warning shoots up...

I have managed to upgrade my xampp to a newer version abd solved the problem. Thanks again :rolleyes:
