CSS problem :S

somehow ie renders things wider then FF
not the other way around.... ie renders wider the FF
this is new for me, don't have a clue what could be causing this.

I've been trying to fix this little css problem for the past 2 hours and getting nowhere.
Any ideas on this?

Sounds like box model differences to me (without actually looking at your CSS).

If you read carefully, there's a good description of the problem in here:

EDIT: Now that I reread what you wrote... I might be mistaken... usually the IE box model errors result in IE being smaller...
...that being said, I don't have IE/Win handy at home, so I can't really help much.

fixed the problems

ie 6 was running in standards mode and FF in border-box model.
That caused the reversed diference. Bit strange to have it like that, didn't really think of that.

Another problem was coming from the ie float and margin double margin error

And another problem was caused by clear:both
Which firefox (correctly) caused the content to go beneath the left bar, which also contains a float. Had to fix that by doing a float: left width:100% ugly solution

P.s. is that css website from the same makers as this website???
