I'm looking for something similar to myspace.com I'm familiar with PHP, not a great programmer, but I'm not completely hopeless. I've seen a few open source user-centric php apps such as drupal and civicspace.
The ultimate goal is to have a site where users can browse by geographical area or other criteria, have there own profile, and contact eachother.
Any ideas?
