personally i found it pretty difficult jumping from tutorial to tutorial when i first began. its kinda hard to get the idea of how the entire thing works together. i ended up investing in some books.
so, my advice would be to do the same. hell, if you cant afford a good book, there is a wonderfully written free book available to read online here. if you read this, it will gradually guide you through the basics and then onto more complex scripts. i allways think its good to get an understanding first. you know.... learn to crawl before you walk. obviously everyone is different though. lots of people around here might recommend just jumping in, its up to you.
