hi guys...its your favorite newbie once again... this time... with a massive headache from trying to setup apache2
ive tried everything under the sun... everything seems to be getting progressively worse... im so frustrated with this thing im about to cry like a little girl.
anywhoo...heres the situation:
i have one internet connection: cable modem
lets say my outside ip is 123.456.123.456
i have one router...setup to route requests to the right ip
the private computer ip the webpages sits on is 192.168.0.142
i would like to host two sites on it:
lets assume it is 1. www.websiteone.net, 2. www.websitetwo.net
i am using apache 2
i am running it in an xp machine
i am using php
i am using mysql (this seems to be ok)
apache2 sits on its default directory: c:\program files\apachegroup\apache2
both websites resides in its own folder within c:\www
- c:\www\website1\
- c:\www\website2\
they are essentially identical sites...just different logos
the documents are within subfolders in these folders...i.e.
- c:\www\website1\public\signup\index.php
- c:\www\website2\public\signup\index.php
i know that i have a few files to mess with to get everything running...
the hosts file in the windows\system32\drivers\etc\ folder
the config file in apache the apache folder (httpd.conf)
and the php file (i dont think this matters too much)
i tried setting this whole thing up as an ip based virtual hosting
i tried setting it up as a name based ip virtual hosting
i just cant seem to figure out the right configs
i tried a rain dance, i tried praying to god, then to allah, then to lord zorlack of planet lakzor....
none worked.
please help. please.
thanks in advance...you guys alwas seem to pull through for me.
