[RESOLVED] PHP error messages not displaying

I have recently installed Apache 1.3.3 with PHP 5 and MySQL. However, it hasnt been outputting any errors for me.

error reporting, turned on in the php.ini file or the php file itself will not produce the output of error messages.

Does anyone know of anything else which could revent the error message being outputted, or should i just reinstall php / apache?

I cant go up to apache 2 as it doesnt work on my computer as it will refuse to start.
