joining 2 tables?

I have tried to write a query to do the following but failed.

I want to get the names of the 3 types of rooms and the correct rate from 1st jan to 31st jan.

so i can have:

1 > Single > 20, 21, 22
2 > double > 30, 31, 32
3 > Triple > 40, 41, 42

please help! cheers!

You can:
select * from rates left join room_des on rtype = rt

which will give you roomtypes short name & rates in the same output.

With a where statment (You should really have one colum timestamp for the datres!):

where (e_month = 1) and (e_year = 2005)

which will get you the timeslot.
