[RESOLVED] expiring passwords

im after a script to adapt or a tutorial which can password protect a web folder.

it needs to allow several usernames and passwords.

at 1st login a trigger should be set off to erase the user after a certain timespan e.g. X weeks/days.

i would like to keep it server side to avoid fiddling of the timer system, i have access to mysql.

i am semi-familiar with some password protection methods but i have no idea where to start with the timer.

Get the timestamp at registration and compare it to the timestamp each time the user logs in.

For example:

//account will expire in 3 weeks
//$timestamp_at_registration is the timestamp you have collected and stored in the database when the user registers
if(time()-$timestamp_at_registration > 60*60*24*7*3) {
     //do stuff to delete account or make password expire or whatever
}
