Please Give Us Advice On Redesigning the Corporate Website.

Firstly we would sincerely thank those nice friends on some forums who reviewed our website http://www.sothink.com and pointed out problems in many aspects.

Now we are planning to redesign our website and we are figuring some general outline for that. Please help kindly us with following quesitons, as we want to be professional!

1. What in your view is an ideal homepage for a software company like us?

2. Can you suggest some required function/technology that a website for us should have?

3. We know we should avoid taboos, but for details we know very few.can you give one
   
   or two advice on that?

The grey at the bottom has got to go.

I like the first page you visit being an overview of your products.

The highlight on the menu is bad, same colour on same colour is never a good idea. The flashing of the orange dot on the menu is annoying. Maybe if the text turned orange it would be better but orange with an orange dot point, not good. Maybe a blue text highlight.

The sub-meuns look plain and the highlight is a boring effect. You could get away with having just an underline for the submenus, keep the same colour. It is plain but works.

When I went to other pages the top menu section was blue and the content section was grey. I would stick to blue.

Just a few tips but hope they help :queasy:

BTW the 8th anniversary flash is going rather slow on this PC.

Are the menus Sothink DHTML menus? If not, why don't you use your own product to show what it can do?

Is the text along the top necessary? If not, remove it.

I don't like the animated flash -- it's a little too much for your home page.

Your page is a little busy -- I like a clean, simple page. The colors, however, look fine to me.

I'm a bit confused, though. It doesn't seem like you are using PHP... is this the case? Seems strange to be on a PHP site looking for feedback if you aren't using PHP.
