A while ago it used to avarage above 3500 uniques per day. Lately mainly because of a lack of time on my behalf it dropped to 500 uniques.

So i decided it was time to revitalize top-download.net with a new look new content and new promotion.

But before i get into the promotion part i would like your opinion about the website and make some final adjustments.

I'd move the ad/affiliate bar to the right. The font type could be friendlier... verdana or arial are always beautiful 😉
A rollover highlight for the menu buttons would be cool.
A forum theme would be cool, you might have one for registered users, if you do make it the default for your forum because the phpbb2 theme is nasty.

Try a font style change and shift the ad bar and I think it would look a lot better. You could do more but just stick with the small things for now. The white text on the menu is kinda bothering me... maybe not have the letters is caps?

Edit: You should 'whore', its a technical term, your game reviews on Blues News. That should boost up your visits for sure. It did mine 😉

Clearly hasnt been tested with Firefox, the main content is shifted quite a lot to the right making hoizontal scroll perhaps taking a look for yourself. Also if your going to have a W3C HTML Validation link make sure it validates it sort of looks clumsy otherwise.

Only thing which is invalid are the ads, can't really solve that
Has been thoroughly tested in firefox.. well only the latest version.
No problems here

P.S. I'm also looking for button exchanges, contact me if you are interested.

Actually its not the ads, its code. center is invalid with HTML 4.01 Strict take a look. http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A//www.top-download.net/ I have the latest Firefox v 1.0.6 Content is on the very right. Thats both Linux and Windows, also take a look in Opera quite interesting results also, thats using v 8.01

Changed the fonts, articles are in my opinion a lot easier to read now.
Also changed the doctype to appropiate transitional

Maybe I'm out of touch, but my first reaction on visiting your site was "What does this site do?" With a name like "top-download" I would have expected a search box and/or category chooser on the homepage in order to help me find what I want to download. Clicking on "tops" helped me find some links to the top game demos for download. But there was still nowhere to search for what I wanted. But maybe that's what your site is all about - linking to the top ten on various other sites. I just think you should clearly state your site's mission on the home page, so that new users know what to expect.

Other than that very basic flaw, I don't see anything else that would cause me concern.

Well said mate, I was expecting something like download.com but nope just another game review site. It is hard to think of a web site name... bah my business name SUCKS but I really can't think of anything else. Everyone else has all the cool names :bemused:
I suppose that even stating "top-download - game reviews" is good enough :queasy:
