Need some help on software development

Hi,

My friend and I have learnt PHP recently and wrote a script for an online website using php and mysql. We are trying to develop a software and distribute it to paying customers. Our school teacher is unable to help us on this. How can we go about doing it? How to develop a software? Thank you

The likelyhood is that it has already been done, better, and is free, unless you have a really good hook or idea.

The first thing that I would do when distributing a script, is to make an install file, so that it is VERY easy to install, consider this, and go from there, and when it is entirely user friendly, start to sell it.

I understand that there are lots of softwares available for any kind of solutions. We have a group of customers and now we are looking for ways to protect our scripts before a full payment is received. We are releasing it by allowing 6 months instalment basis. Do you have any workable recommendations to protect the script? Do you have any software development solutions? Are there any free software creation service?

i think you are looking for a code obfuscator,
( a program used to hide the source code from others )
'cause of your "we try to sell it to customers..."

there are some available as online-services, ( using POBS )
or you can use POBS directly

and i think theres one available from zend ( $$$$$$$$ )

I'm using IonCube @ IonCube.com for PHP scripts, alot cheaper than Zend and has more functionality if I remember correctly.
