I am creating a PayPal IPN script right now, and I am stuck on a problem.

I need to make it so I can choose mutiple items with multiple quantites.

I dont even think this is possible, I tried everything I could think of doing- even though paypal itself.

any ideas?

You can look at the sorce code (add something to your cart and right click the cart window and select view source).

One thing they forgot in the documentation is that you can set quantity.

Don't know if you read it yet but you set up variables like item_1, item_2... You have to go in order and you can set quantity_1, quantity_2. If quanity is set to 0 it mucks up everthing, but if someone is trying to order something why would they set it to 0?

It took me about 2 hours to integrate the shopping cart to PayPal, which is the fastest ever integration to online processing I have ever done, they make it super easy.

A little pointer on using Paypal's IPN. You really need point the notify form parameter at your IPN script, and the return parameter at a simple page saying 'transaction complete' or something. Having the IPN script triggered from the return parameter means that it won't get triggered until the user has clicked 'return to site' within the Paypal website. This is all well and good if the user does click 'return to site', but if for example they assume that the transaction is complete after they have paid and close the browser, your IPN script won't get triggered at all.

The URL specified in the notify parameter is called as soon as the Paypal user has paid, so they can safely close the browser as you will have received the IPN.
