Mail function problems

Hey All,

I have a local apache server running on my machine. Its just for testing purposes.
The only thing I cant do is send emails using the mail function.

I get this type of error:
Warning: mail(): "sendmail_from" not set in php.ini or custom "From:" header missing in C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs\sites\Forktruck\thankyou.php on line 45

Is there anyway to tell it to use Outlook or somthing else to send emails?

It would save alot of unnecessary uploading to test

I don't think that's possible.

If you're using Windows XP Pro, you can install IIS with it's builtin SMTP server.
PHP needs an SMTP server in order to be able to send emails.

Nope just normal Win XP.

I thought maybe there was a simply way of assigning Outlook as the mail server.
It was just an idea I had.

Thanks for the suggestion about IIS but that all sounds too complicated and time consuming for one little function.
