need help with sendemail

I am trying to create email that will render an html image code as the output

this is what I have

$body.= "<IMG SRC=\"http://www.anaturalway.com/images/linerainbow.gif\" ALT=\"line\" WIDTH=\"400\" HEIGHT=\"2\">" "\n";

and this is the error I get

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING
in ***.php on line 20

I am new to php and cannot see the problem.

$body.= "<IMG SRC=\"http://www.anaturalway.com/images/linerainbow.gif\" ALT=\"line\" WIDTH=\"400\" HEIGHT=\"2\">" "\n";

should be

$body.= "<IMG SRC=\"http://www.anaturalway.com/images/linerainbow.gif\" ALT=\"line\" WIDTH=\"400\" HEIGHT=\"2\">\n";

I am 10 lines further along and only have 9 to go

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /******.php on line 29

This is strange because this line works exactly as is in another script:

$custhead.="To: " . ucwords($POST['fname'] . " " . $POST['lname'] ) . " <" . $_POST['email'] . ">\r\n";

well there is nothing wrong with that line, it probably has to do with the line before it not being formed properly
