Check if mod_rewrite is installed?

I'm looking for a script or a way to check if mod_rewrite is install on someones server when they are running the installer of something I'm working on. So it'll need to check if mod_rewrite is installed/enabled. Is this possible?

Well, first of all you'll need to establish that they're using Apache. Something in the $_SERVER array may help there.

Then once you've confirmed that, use one of the [man]Apache[/man]-specific functions (it shouldn't be too hard to figure out which).
