Loosing Sessions when switching from HTTP > HTTPS

Greetings,

I am having a hard time figuring out why we are loosing track of session variables in a small shopping cart we are creating, although I found the spot where it is doing it.

We are loosing a $_SESSION variable between 2 pages, that accually jump from a htaccess mod rewrite https protocol (yes i know thats cheesy) to an accual secure channel of https.

Do you think thats the reason we are loosing track of the session? Is there anyway to pass a varialbe from HTTP to HTTPS via sessions? Is there a setting we need to change?

Any help is kindly appreciated.

Thank you for that it works. I had to pass the session id variable via the URL in a form that passed to my file2.
