which different scoring system are there??

hi all,

Trying to make a general League system for different sports. Now I notice you got different scoring systems like:

points
ladder
elo rating

Are there any more scoring systems? Have you got any good suggestions/links I could read for reference?

right now I have 4 tables:
- sport_category
- scoring_system
- teams
- games

Oh, yes the php question would be after I know the different scorings systems.

Like which formula one uses for Elo rating? I read about this and it has to do with winning from a higher rank earnes you more points then winning from a lower rank. Correct me if I am wrong.

Right now, I got the points-system in my tbl scoring_system with
Win Lose Draw
3 0 1

I don't think I can hold the other scoring systems in my table, but maybe other systems could. But I do think that the mutual divider between different scoringsystems would be a win and lost.

I am sorry, but that is completely unrelated to PhP. Once you figure out what you want to do, and which formulas are needed, we can of course help you to figure out the correct code. But this.. this is just info you need to design the page, noit to build it.
