Searching Through JPEG File Names

Hi,

I'm looking for some ideas for a PHP script that could search through a folder containing JPEG's and find file names that correspond to search criteria passed over to the script. The file names would be in the format of Last Name, First Name.jpg and would contain spaces. Is there any way of setting up the functionality to work like a LIKE in an SQL statement, where any file name(s) would be returned that contain the search criteria entered?

You may do a search on the directory, and pull all of the file names into an array, and then do a search on the array instead. I'm not certain, but I don't think you can do wildcard searches on filenames within a directory. I could be wrong though... Wouldn't be the first time. :bemused:
