Newbie needs help

Hi All,

I have download the latest versions of Php, My Sql and Apache, but I cannot get them to work on my computer.

My Sql is installed ok, Php has been copied and set-up. But when I try to load IIS or Apache neither of them work?

When installing apache an error comes up on line 955, AddType needs two variables in 'httpd.conf'

Then that "clears" and an (OS 2) error comes up.

When the apache symbol appears in the taskbar, it says no services installed.

I have not got a clue what to do now!!!

Forgot to mention that I am running WinXP professional.

I have coldfusion MX, would that be a better thing to use?

I would remove all that stuff and get XAMPP. It installs EVERYTHING for you: Apache, MySQL, PHP and makes it all work (with just some minor tweaking) on any platform.

Try www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html for details. If you get stuck on anything, check this board because somebody else has probably already encountered and obtained a fix. 😉
