Stripping words from a string

Hi peeps, me again! 😃

I'm thinking of ideas for a new site, and I need to know how to strip words from a string of words. The good thing here is that the string of words will come in a known format...

eg, I get the string input to my server like this...

word1 word2 url

word1 will always be the same and does not need storing in the database.

word2 could be anything

url could be anything but if it does not contain http:// then this needs to be added to the url, but if it does contain http:// then just store it in the database.

Can anyone help me on this one, or point me in the right direction.

$explodedWords=explode( ' ', $words );
$word1=$explodedWords[0];
$word2=$exlodedWords[1];
$url=$explodedWords[2];

if ( ! ereg( 'http://', $url ) )
{
$url = 'http://' . $url;
}
