Footer Statistics

Hi,

Does anyone know how to add footer statistics to the bottom of a page. Where it puts like as follows.

Well, you did ask a yes-or-no question.

Edit: it's "you're" not "your".

It all depends on what you want to do. The time taken to generate a page can be calculated by calling the microtime() function as the first line in your script, and again at the end. You can then subtract one from the other and display the difference.

"Debug enabled" looks like an application-specific setting, pssibly set in an include file. An "if" statement which tests the value of that setting should help determine that.

and so on for anything else you want to display.

I was trying to teach him the value of asking smart questions...otherwise, with some of the other members here, he'll get something much worse than my simple "Yes.". He might get LARTed, be given a PEBKAC error, or just simply flamed to death with reponses saying "RTFM" and "STFW".

In any case, justsomeone's answer is correct. However, if you'd like to rephrase your questions after reading those documents, I'd be glad to help you out much more in-depth.

put this at the very top of your PHP script:

function getSystemTime()  {
  list($usec, $sec) = explode(" ", microtime());
  return ((float)$usec + (float)$sec);
}
$start = getSystemTime();
?>

then, put this wherever you want to footer to go:

<?php
echo 'This page took ' . (getSystemTime() - $start) . ' seconds to load.';
?>

pretty straightforward.

I tried that beofre but it puts it as "This page took 0.10445404052734 seconds to load" and I was wanting it to say "This page took 0.1 seconds to load."

Your final time is a floating number, which means many digits after the decimal point. You'll want to use the round function to round it to a specified number of digits after the decimal point. More information about round is available on the PHP manual, located here: http://www.php.net/round.
